realy cringy the amount of times they reminded us that the fat ones legacy should not be forgotten - or that he made us what we are today.
Neville in particular made me want to smash the TV by saying Payet was just a normal signing - and it was in fact THE WORLDS FAULT that players that cost over 7 million SHOULD BE world class - and not Payets skillset should be considered normal.

This is the problem with pundits. They throw in a few impressions they gather from headlines without any meaningful research into why WH fans and directors didn't want BFS to continue.
He had done his job. He describes it as "did everything I was asked to do..." except it wasn't was it? He was asked to play better football and get us top 8. He couldn't do it.

To be fair I took it as Martin Tyler commending us on the type of football we were playing and the way our fans were getting behind the team, at times was saying how much more attacking we are (in a complimentary way) than we were under Sam but think he then felt he needed to big Sam up so not to look like he was slating the work he did for us.
I actually thought the commentary was quite biased towards us for a change the other night, most of the chat between commentary seemed to be about us rather than Newcastle.

Sam is good telly. His record stands before him and comes across. Dull, lifeless, cautious and boring. Been got rid off by so many clubs is his CV.
His record from Xmas with us was relegation. Just lucky he had points in bag from beginning of season when he could not play his hoof it football, as we had no big clod hopper up front, but two nippy forwards who did not want ball in air.
Sam is a Dinosaur, always will be.

He does seemed to have copped some flak despite leaving us in a comparable, if not better situation than any other of our managers.
Debatable on Harry and Curbs I suppose.

I am sure whatever people's thoughts about Bilic and any doubts about his appointment I find it hard to believe that anyone could think that Allardyce could continue.
He admitted himself he didn't want to stay and by the end he had given up any pretence of interest.
He had run out of ideas, enthusiasm or the slightest skerrick of giving a shit.
The only humane response to the end of the last home game against Everton where he sloped around the pitch in a tiny circuit in front of about 1,000 fans was the sheet being pulled over the rotting cadaver of his reign.

I respect what Sam did I think 80% of Hammers fans do but the last few seasons were at too many points awful and pathetic.
I did not want Big Sam from the beginning I hated what he did football wise to the team but the man did a successful job, he got us promoted and kept us safely just about in the Prem for a few seasons too.
I think where the media might be over doing it is that there is some genuine hate toward Allardyce which he does not deserve and believe me I wanted him out the season before he left so I am in no way a fan, but being vile about the man is silly and uncalled for especially now its over, its over and we should at least appreciate that he tried in his own way try to do his best.

It is possible to have really disliked watching the football of Allardyce, and also recognise the benefits of his reign.
I've said it before, but he was like a foul tasting medicine, or a big ladle of cod liver oil. Nobody is expected to enjoy taking it, but it is good for you nevertheless.
This is all panning out how I hoped it would when Sam got the job. I knew it was going to be ugly; only idiots would have expected anything else, but I hoped it would help save the club and set us up to push on once he'd finished carryign out his brief.
Which is exactly where we find ourselves now. Long may our progress continue.

The bit that annoyed me was in commentary, I think Martin Tyler who I like usually said. Of course there was lots of talk of the west ham way, with Sam they had the winning way and let's not forget his impact on this. That's deluded!
